CVS/BCS poster printer
The Center for Visual Science & the Department of Brain and Cognitive Sciences jointly operate an HP DesignJet Z6 wide format printer. Any member of CVS or BCS who will be presenting a poster at a conference/symposium/etc may request to have me print their poster for them at no charge.
To submit a poster for printing please e-mail the poster file (or a link to the poster file if it's too big to attach to an e-mail) to " posters@cvs.rochester.edu " (note new e-mail address as of 10/2025)
Note: Printing posters is only one of my many job responsibilities and I need time to fit these requests into my schedule so you must submit your poster a minimum of 2 business days before your desired pick-up day/time. Also, letting me know in advance that you're going to submit a printing request would be greatly appreciated.
To ensure no unnecessary delays in the printing of your poster, please note:
You must be affiliated with CVS or BCS to use this service
*NEW 10/2025* contributors who are members of BCS or CVS need to be identified as such
Posters should be submitted in either PowerPoint (preferred) or PDF formats (Adobe Illustrator or InDesign files are not an option)
- Posters are printed on 36" wide paper so the maximum width of a "portrait" poster or the maximum height of a "landscape" poster is 36"
- Your poster needs to have at least a 5mm border around the edges to prevent graphics from being cut off
- We do not have the ability to trim posters so be sure to remove crop/registration marks before submission
- It is strongly recommended that you do not use a very dark/black background for your poster...it uses up a lot of ink and results in posters that readily show even minimal damage
Please be sure to proofread your poster before submitting...currently you may only request one reprint due to content changes
*NEW 10/2025*
For members of CVS: Your poster is required to have the CVS "research graphic" on it (links below). You are also encouraged to add the following text:
