 * Deserves a mention--I hadn't heard of it before and don't see it cited: "Constraints on the Transfer of Perceptual Learning in Accented Speech". Eisner, Melinger & Weber (2013) (http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC3612694/). They see that listeners generalize L1 Dutch stop devoicing to other Dutch speakers, but not to British-accented speakers doing the same thing. Just further confirmation of some ideas the lab has talked about. --ZJB
