Amanda

  1. Held the organizational ESP meeting
  2. Met with Olga to try to organize the RAs, set up some meetings with some RAs to try to delegate tasks
  3. Met with Val about her grad school interviews, her project
  4. Thought a lot about memory, information compression, and processing abilities of children. Chatted a bit with Flo about it, asked Dick about what he knows about research on children's memory abilities. Thought about how task demands influence whether children can use a contrast as a constraint.
  5. Had a very successful in lab (child) participant - thought about toys that need to be ordered for our play space.
  6. Chatted with the RAs about recruiting at the hospital, scheduled visits with Olga.
  7. Attended the BCS and Neuro job talks, heard a lot about alpha oscillations - had lunch with the BCS candidate.
  8. Set up meetings with lab manager candidates for the Kinder Lab, met with the first of them.
  9. Gave a short chat with my class about how to write article summaries, tools for researching and focusing, and finding research positions. Some of them looked like they thought this information was useful... so that's good.
