Setting up the new bitebars

For the DDPI-mk3, bitebars will have to be much more rigid and consistent than we have previously been used to.

To ensure a rigid fit, please use conical head screws and Tighten them as much as possible.

Please note that most of our conical head screws are silver, not black.

The screws used should be 3/8 inch 8-32 screws with a conical head. The screws and appropriate hex key to tighten them are in the subject supplies cabinet

NOTE: the new bitebars should be washed thoroughly before use.

Differences from old bitebars

The new bitebars are completely compatible with the old mounts if this is an issue.

Manufacturing

These new bitebars are a spline-defined replica of the old smaller bitebars, they are near perfect copies.

They were manufactured by AJL manufacturing, a local company. They have the designs on file and are more than capable of making more. I've also attached the CAD files and production drawings below

Plastic Bite Bar for EEG

A plastic variant of this bite bar design was developed and fabricated for use with the EEG system. It is compatible with the bite bar mounting slot used for the DDPI systems. Dan Guarino from the CVS shop fabricated 5 of these bite bars from a 6"x6"x1/2" Delrin block (P/N 8573K123 from McMaster-Carr) using the CNC router. The CAD file for this plastic bite bar design is attached below.
