Instructions for the new Xerox ColorQube 8870DN printers

The address for the ColorQube 8870 printer in G-4106 is "cvs003.urmc-sh.rochester.edu"

The address for the ColorQube 8870 printer in Meliora 249 is "cvs249color.cvs.rochester.edu"

Mac OSX

• Download the Xerox printer installation program: http://www.cvs.rochester.edu/cvspriv/downloads/ColorQube8870/ColorQube8870_MacOSX.dmg.

• Double-click on the file to open the installer...a window should appear with an installer called "Xerox Print Drivers 2.50.0" in it. Double-click on that file to launch the installer.
• Accept the default options during install.
• Once it finishes, it will display a "Select A Printer" window with three icons in it. Click on the icon on the RIGHT.
• Enter the printer's address.

• From the printer model pulldown menu, select "Xerox ColorQube 8870DN".

• Click on Continue.
• On the next page, check or uncheck the option to print a test page or make this your default printer as you see fit.
• Click on Continue. At this point, you're done.

Windows XP or Windows 7 (32-bit only)

• Follow these instructions for enabling LPD printing on your computer: EnableLpdPrinting

• Download and run the Xerox printer installation program: http://www.cvs.rochester.edu/cvspriv/downloads/ColorQube8870/ColorQube8870_Win_XP_Win7_32bit.exe

• The program will ask for a directory name that it can use to decompress the installer. Accept the default, and click Install.
• The "Add Printer Wizard" should now start. Click on "Next".
• In the next window, click on "Local printer attached to this computer", but UNcheck "Automatically detect and install my Plug and Play printer". Click Next.
• In the next window, select "Create a new port" and select "LPR port" from the list. Click Next.
• In the next window, enter the address of the printer in both of the fields. Click Next.

• In the next window, select "Xerox ColorQube 8870DN PS" from the list of printers. Click Next.

• In the next window, enter something descriptive (if you like) for the printer name, and set it as your default if applicable. Click Next.
• In the next window, select "Do not share this printer". Click Next.
• In the next window, print a test page if you like. Click Next.
• The printer wizard should now complete. Click Finish to end installation.

Windows 7 (64-bit only)

• In the next window, select "Xerox ColorQube 8870DN PS" from the list of printers. Click Next.

• In the next window, enter something descriptive (if you like) for the printer name. Click Next.
• In the next window, select "Do not share this printer". Click Next.
• In the next window, print a test page if you like. Click Finish when done.
