Instructions for the new Xerox Phaser 8860/DN printer

Download the Xerox printer installation program: http://www.cvs.rochester.edu/cvspriv/downloads/Phaser8860/
Double-click on the file to open the installer...a window should appear with an installer in it. Double-click on that file to launch the installer.
Accept the default options during install.
Once it finishes, it will display a "Select A Printer" window with three icons in it. Click on the icon on the RIGHT.
Enter the printer's address.
From the printer model pulldown menu, select "Xerox Phaser 8860".
Click on Continue.
On the next page, check or uncheck the option to print a test page or make this your default printer as you see fit.
Click on Continue. At this point, you're done.

Download and run the appropriate Xerox printer installation program from here: http://www.cvs.rochester.edu/cvspriv/downloads/Phaser8860/
The program will ask for a directory name that it can use to decompress the installer. Accept the default, and click Install.
The "Add Printer Wizard" should now start. Click on "Next".
In the next window, click on "Local printer attached to this computer", but UNcheck "Automatically detect and install my Plug and Play printer". Click Next.
In the next window, select "Create a new port" and select "LPR port" from the list. Click Next.
In the next window, enter the address of the printer in both of the fields. Click Next.
In the next window, select "Xerox Phaser 8860" from the list of printers. Click Next.
In the next window, enter something descriptive (if you like) for the printer name, and set it as your default if applicable. Click Next.
In the next window, select "Do not share this printer". Click Next.
In the next window, print a test page if you like. Click Next.
The printer wizard should now complete. Click Finish to end installation.
