Parametric Tests vs Non-parametric Tests Revisited
In The Basics we briefly mentioned the difference between parametric and non-parametric tests. The statistical tests described in this wiki all fall into the category of parametric tests with the specific assumption that the populations of interest are normally distributed. Thus, when your data are collected from populations that violate this assumption, these tests are not applicable.
