Where to Find Current Project Status
Overview of Scrum Project Management System
Defining a Project
Projects are defined by an objective.
- e.g., “setup eye coil” becomes “collect gaze-contingent data with subjects in eye coil”
- Ideally, this objective is both measurable and has a deadline
- i.e. run a lab volunteer by the end of September, run 5 community subjects by the end of 2018
Projects are carried out by teams
- Team lead, but whole team is responsible for achieving the outcome
Involvement of team members varies with project status & capacity
- i.e., some project member may be on “hiatus” for certain phases
Carrying Out a Project
Scrum -- frequent brief meetings with team members where each person answers the following 3 questions:
- What did you do between the last Scrum and now?
- What will you between now and the next Scrum?
- Are there any impediments in your way?
